We Had a reservation for this weekend! I lived in Winston Salem for years and was visiting from MD! Iβll start by saying that the hostess was very nice and gave me a heads up on scheduling conflicts. Much appreciated from her!! The food was great. We throughly enjoyed the food and drinks honestly. Server Morgan was niceβ¦kind of lackadaisical. She did her job well. No sense of urgency for bread or service but also the drinks and food time was out of her control. Now! For KYLE - we sat outside. Not sure if we were asked? Muggy, raining but we did. We asked FIVE TIMES for the curtain to be let down because we were getting wet from the LITERAL RAIN bouncing off the wall. We told Morgan, the hostess and anyone who would listen. KYLE came over .. looked and did nothing. A few times. Said it needed two people and just never returned. Ladies on that side were SOAKED from the rain. Wasnβt until later that WE mobilized with Morgan and stood on chairs to lower the protection. Finally offering some relief. I say some because there were massive holes in the barrier. Seems like we shouldnβt have to ask more than twice to stop being drenched in the elements. Kyle?? Never returned .. never explai

My first time dining at this restaurant. Simply amazing. The staff were great and the food was top tier. I had the shrimp and grits and it was by far the best! I will be coming back!

Good place to stop for dinner. It was busy and they told us we only had one hour to eat which seemed weird at first but ultimately fine. Overall good restaurant with good food.

Pre date dinner that was nothing short of fantastic. Menu looked good online but food was more thoughtful than the menu suggested. Cozy interior but not over the top fancy. Had βneighborhood restaurantβ vibes. Comfortable environment where food and service are the star. Pictures are shrimp and grits and southwestern flank steak. Non traditional grits with a grit cake. Shrimp were very flavorful and a bit of smoked sausage mixed in offered bold flavor and a variety of textures. The flank steak was anything but generic. Perfectly cooked, zestfully seasoned (not overly so), and a chili lime dressing that set the steak off. The vegetable medley was a mix of zucchini, squash, bell peppers, and onion with Italian seasoning. Will absolutely be going back, no question.

What a great restaurant. The menu has a little something for everyone. From pasta to seafood and steaks. After hearing about this place on historical tour I was excited to see the original home. It has warm lightning and a beautiful fire place which was perfect in December. The had fantastic seasonal drinks. The food was amazing. The calamari is a must! I would recommend this for a classy dinner without the snob vibe. Casual but classy. The service was fast and friendly but never pushy. Prices were reasonable for the portions.
